Research
The Creative Manchester platform brings together and advances multi-disciplinary and impact-oriented research, supporting and developing research which utilises creative methods and practices, as well as building resources for researchers and students across The University of Manchester.
As a subject, Creativity is a broad church in which many people and organisations are at home. This is why we have three distinct research themes that invite people into conversation with us, as well as our Social Responsibility work with local and international communities on creative and cultural initiatives:
Creative Industries and Innovation
Our research theme exploring innovative research that can benefit local areas, create new jobs, and advance the industries as a whole.
Creative and Civic Futures
Our research theme focusing on questions of climate change, community, and civil issues including minority groups and migrant experiences.
Creativity, Health and Wellbeing
Our research theme exploring the tangible health benefits of the arts and creative practice.
Interdisciplinary research at Creative Manchester
Creative Manchester develops interdisciplinary research communities across all three faculties and connects them to strategic partners in Greater Manchester.
